WAUKESHA — Defense has helped the Catholic Memorial High School girls basketball team get off to a good start.
With Tuesday’s 45-39 Classic 8 Conference victory over Kettle Moraine, the Crusaders improved to 5-1 overall and 31 in league play.
“Our defensive effort has been good,” CMH coach Therese Dejewski said of the Crusaders’ man-to-man style. “We’ve still got to get better in a couple areas, but overall defensive effort has kept us in ballgames.”
Sophomore forward Erin Wright led the Crusaders with 12 points Tuesday, while junior guard Tori North added 10.
Senior Lindsey Weber had 14 points to lead the Lasers (2-2 Classic 8).
