Soccer Team and Parents gather for mass and dinner.

At the request of the team, last night Fr. Paul Hartmann celebrated mass with the CMH varsity soccer team and their parents.

On the Church's first Universal Feast of Pope St. John Paul II, the readings chosen for this mass focused on a verse from St. Paul's message to the Philippians - "I continue my pursuit toward the goal, the prize of God’s upward calling, in Christ Jesus."

The boys team will compete tonight in the sectional semifinals against Delavan-Darian, at 6pm, at Delavan.

As is our tradition, at the end of the mass, together we prayed the Crusader Team Prayer.

Heavenly Father,

Our Life, Health, and Abilities are gifts from you.

Give us the courage to devote each,
not to our own gain, but to your glory.

Let us compete today with all our heart, mind, body, and soul.

If you choose, allow victory to come as a blessing and reward;
but, if necessary, assist us to learn integrity in defeat.

Keep all players safe this day.

Allow us to give our best as a memorial
to those who have given their all for our sake.

Leader:/ St. Sebastian, patron of athletes,
R:/ Pray for Us.

L:/ Our Lady of Memorial, R:/ Pray for Us.

L:/ Our Lady of Victory, R:/ Pray for Us

L:/ We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

The evening ended with a potluck dinner at the CMH rectory.  Thanks to all of the families who coordinated and contributed.

Good Luck tonight!
