Crusader Girls win KML Invitational


Crusaders win KML Invitational 

JACKSON — The Catholic Memorial High School girls volleyball team won the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invitational on Saturday, going 5-0 on the day.

CMH defeated Slinger and Wisconsin Heights to get into the winners bracket where the Crusaders narrowly beat Waunakee 25-16, 16-25, 15-9. CMH topped host KML 26-24, 26-24 in a semifinal before beating Germantown 25-21, 25-21 to win the title.

Sophomore outside hitter Lexi Alden led the Crusaders with 40 kills, while sophomore middle Ivey Whelan had 26 kills in addition to six blocks. Sophomore Maddy Rondeau had 65 assists, senior Lexi Calloway had 30 digs and junior libero Maddy Miller added 16 digs and five aces as the Crusaders improved to 17-3 overall.
