Novak leads CMH boys to Blackshirt title
WAUKESHA — Senior Joe Novak finished third individually to lead the Catholic Memorial High School boys cross country team to the title title in Saturday’s Blackshirt Challenge at Minooka Park on Saturday.
Novak finished in 17:00 to finish behind South Milwaukee’s Joshua Janusiak (16:23.71) and Port Washington’s Nick Michalowski (16:41.96).
CMH senior Evan Wetzel was eighth in 17:37, junior Jack Zwisler ninth in 17:44, junior Andrew Hirsch 12th in 18:12 and senior Brad Bodus 32nd in 19:27.
Waukesha South finished third behind junior Dustin Davis, who finished fourth in 17:11.
Kettle Moraine senior Ann Sekutowski ran the girls race second in 20:14 in leading the Lasers to the team title. Freshman Ellery Craven was fourth in 20:36, junior Natalie Brunner 10th in 21:46, sophomore Anna Kroll 16th in 22:27 and senior Ivana Bajic 18th in 22:37.
New Berlin West finished third, with junior Sarah Meleski third in 20:16 and sophomore Allie Maniscalco eighth in 21:29.
Fourth-place Waukesha South was led by seventhplace senior Krysta Pierstorff (20:57) and ninth-place freshman Grace Dragiewicz (21:37).
