Sophomores lead Crusaders to soccer victory
MILWAUKEE – Sophomores did the damage.
The Catholic Memorial High School girls soccer team beat Kettle Moraine Lutheran 8-0 in a nonconference game at Uihlein Soccer Park on Tuesday, with sophomores doing all the team’s scoring.
Emily Cervantes, who was the state Player of the Year as a freshman, scored four for the Crusaders, who outshot KML 22-3. Sophomore Jo Rolli added two goals, and sophomores Aeleesa Medina and Maureen Burke scored one apiece.
It was the 27th straight victory for CMH, adding to the team’s state record. The Crusaders, who improved to 12-0 overall, have not lost in 42 straight games, with one tie during that run.
