Gatorade Award Announced Today!
CMH Soccer Player Emily Cervantes named Gatorade Girls Soccer Player of theYear for Wisconsin
Emily Cervantes, a Catholic Memorial sophomore, adds the Gatorade Wisconsin State Girls Soccer Player of the Year award to her WSCA Player of the Year award and state championship from last season.
Among Gatorade Player of the Year award alumni, fans will discover names like Robert Griffin III, Dwight Howard, Derek Jeter, Lisa Leslie, Peyton Manning, Joe Mauer, Alonzo Mourning, Emmitt Smith, Abby Wambach and Kerri Walsh. These champions represent only a handful of exceptional talents who were first recognized by the Gatorade Player of the Year program before shining at the highest levels of competition.
This award is in honor of your student-athlete’s athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character on the field, in the classroom and in your community. The Gatorade Company is proud to recognize, celebrate and support the nation’s most outstanding high school talents throughout their journey to greatness both on and off the field.
Emily Cervantes also demonstrates remarkable achievements in the community. Her participation as a volunteer coach in the TOPSoccer Program, an activity for children with special cognitive and/or physical needs, has made a difference in the lives of many children and their families.
