Rugby's second season opens

from Crusader Rugby coach, John Waliszewski -
The Catholic Memorial girls rugby teams kicked off their spring season with three matches Saturday afternoon.
The JV team played Brookfield in two shortened matches.  Freshman Nina Sjogren had a wonderful pair of matches, scoring twice for CMH.
The varsity played Armstrong, MN, three-time state champion, and ranked #9 in the USA.  While only a pre-seaosn scrimmage, the Crusaders won 46-5 to start the season on a good note.  In addition to strong leadership from a host of talented seniors and junors, two Sophomores stepped up in their contributions as Ellie Metz and Meaghan Schmitt each scored well-earned tries.

Next up for the Crusaders is the St Louis Ruggerfest, as they renew their annual match against Brighton, Tennessee and Broken Arrow High School out of Oklahoma.  See you there!
