Yesterday morning, I had the singular honor of offering the invocation at the first Milwaukee public event anticipating the 2015 commissioning of the Navy's newest vessel, the USS Milwaukee.
As part of the public service and educational focus of the planning committee and the new crew of the ship is encouraging and strengthening STEM Education.
As part of the Navy leadership visit to Milwaukee for this event, CMH was chosen for a tour of our Project Lead the Way spaces and to present in the Principles of Engineering class.
The retired Vice Admiral leading the commissioning committee, as well as the USS Milwaukee's captain, chief enlisted office and their public affairs office, were all very complimentary of the the class and of CMH.
To end their time at CMH, I briefly shared with our visitors the story of the founding of CMH as a Memorial to 29 fallen servicemen, nine of whom were sailors or marines.
Special thanks to our visitors,
Vice Admrial Dirk Debbink, USN Retired
Commander Michael Brasseur, USN, Commanding Officer USS Milwaukee
Lieutenant (junior grade) Sara Artime, USN, Electronics Material Officer and Public Affairs Officer
Command Senior Chief Greg Garcia, USN, Senior Enlisted Advisor
