Catholic Memorial High School
Announces Major Campaign

WAUKESHA, Wis. – At its biennial Legacy Dinner, Catholic Memorial High School last night announced a $10 million major campaign that will directly fund enhancements to its facilities, grow its endowment and promote student growth and success through academic innovation and Catholic faith formation.

The “Crusading for Excellence” campaign will fund key initiatives outlined in Catholic Memorial High School’s strategic plan, Vision 2020.  Its student-focused objectives promote the growth and enhancement of the school’s academic programs, facilities, and professional development of committed faculty and staff.

These improvements will allow Catholic Memorial to continue to serve families through its already high quality educational offerings, with the benefits of state-of-the-art academic and extracurricular facilities, and increased tuition support.

According to honorary campaign co-chair, Stephen Roell, Chairman and retired CEO of Johnson Controls, “My family is honored to be a part of this great effort.  Its good stewardship and balanced approach will be an example to others.   We are confident that the graduates and supporters of Catholic Memorial will share our enthusiasm for this campaign.”

“Catholic Memorial is proud of its important reputation in the community,” said the Very Rev. Paul B.R. Hartmann, president of Catholic Memorial High School and 1984 alum. “This campaign allows us to grow and innovate so that we may continue to fulfill our mission, and remain one of the premiere Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.”

The Crusading for Excellence Campaign is being ably spearheaded by co-chairs Mike & Lynn Giffhorn, and alums Tim & Monica Hanley.  Honorary co-chairs include Stephen & Shelagh Roell, Kris & James Rappe, and Ken & Jeannie Riesch.  CMH is honored that alumni parents, Bob and Hanna Nevins agreed to serve as chair emeriti.

According CMH alum parent, and former Executive Vice President of WE Energies, Kris Rappe, “My husband Jim and I are very excited about the announcement of the CMH Campaign and the strong support and momentum that has already been achieved toward the $10M goal.  Being part of the Catholic Memorial family has been foundational to the success of our children.  This campaign will ensure the opportunity is available to others throughout our community.”

With a Crusading for Excellence campaign plan that already resonates with donors and supporters, CMH has already received more than $6 million in secured pledges.
