Well, we did it....another successful year at the CMH Haunted House. While numbers may (+) or (-) a little, the count last night was this...
TOTAL FOR THE SEASON:
1953 people went through
$13,500 profit after expenses
We pretty much rocked.
I can't thank everyone enough for their support, extra hands. Most importantly thanks go to all the CMH kids who made this such a scary success. Their effort and enthusiasm was amazing, their rooms were great. I heard positive feedback from people I knew, and even ones I didn't. We have been compared to municipal haunted houses with a far bigger budget and expertise. I think we hold our own with a bunch of moms (and dads!) and about 100 kids.
Many people thank us for having it be so affordable. That goes to show that we don't just pay it forward to our cause, Honor Flight, we also pay it back to the community for offering something within a persons means. Bottom line is that I think each year we realize that the world doesn't revolve around us. We are part of the orbit in someone else's world.
I want you to remember your journey with us these last 6+ weeks. I hope it has made a difference in your life and taught you something about yourself and others you may never would have known.
It has been an honor and privilege to meet and work with all of you. Thanks for being part of this. :)
Michele Campbell, coordinator
P.S. It is still hoped that, with a few donors or another small fundraiser, the last $1,000 might be raised to reach the goal of $14,500. This would be the amount needed to sponsor 29 vets to go on an Honor Flight, and to go in memory of the 29 fallen servicemen for whom CMH is a living memorial.
