CMH Freshman named Girls Soccer Player of the Year

Memorial’s Cervantes soccer POY Fotsch, Grall also on all-state first team

WAUKESHA – Catholic Memorial High School freshman Emily Cervantes was selected Player of the Year in Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association all-state voting.


Cervantes, a forward who helped the Crusaders to the WIAA Division 2 state title, was joined on the first team by Brookfield Central senior defender Sarah Fotsch, Waukesha West junior forward Katie Grall and Menomonee Falls senior midfielder Anna Smalley.


Being selected to the WSCA’s Best of the Rest were Arrowhead senior goalkeeper Michaela Ongaro, Brookfield Central goalkeeper Rachel Oleson, Arrowhead senior defender Maddie Dallman, West junior defender Carly Hoffman, Memorial senior defender Anna Jurken, Falls sophomore defender Sammy Lehnen, Falls junior midfielder Jen Eberhardy, Hamilton senior midfielder Robyn Elliott, Memorial senior midfielder Carina Krausert, Arrowhead senior midfielder Sara Opie, Central junior midfielder Lydia Rohde, Brookfield East senior midfielder Jackie Wandt, Hamilton senior forward Rachel Elliott, Waukesha North junior forward Aubrey Krahn and Oconomowoc senior forward Taylor
