Catholic Memorial boys win lacrosse match

WAUKESHA – Senior Nick Stagl, junior Kory Mueller and freshman Justin Morrison each scored two goals to lead the Catholic Memorial High School boys lacrosse team to a 12-4 victory over Heritage Christian on Thursday.

Scoring one goal apiece were seniors Thomas Bixby, Nolan Hoffmann, Josh Gossett and Oscar Mendoza, junior Carson Houk and freshman Dominic Haight.

Waukesha co-op team loses lacrosse match

WAUKESHA – Catholic Memorial junior Kayla Hoffmann scored four goals, but the Waukesha co-op girls lacrosse team lost to University School-Milwaukee 18-8 at Carroll University on Thursday.

South senior Amy Leach had two goals, while West senior Leah Katzung and
West sophomore Lauren Paquin each had one goal for Waukesha, which trailed 115 at halftime.

Senior Meredith Jeffers had eight goals, and sophomore Katherine Engman had four goals to lead University School.

Softball game stopped with CMH ahead 8-0

WAUKESHA – The Catholic Memorial High School softball team built an 8-0 lead over host Waukesha West before the Classic 8 Conference game was suspended after two innings because of rain Thursday.

Junior third baseman Mari Klement hit a two-run single and freshman first baseman Maria Fernandez had a run-scoring single to highlight a four-run first inning for the Crusaders. Klement drove in another run with a sacrifice fly and senior left fielder Nikki Lee had a two-run single during CMH’s four-run second inning.
