A Christmas Good Samaritan

On Thursday, after all of the exams were finished, CMH Dean of Students, Steve Plechaty, responded to a call for help from a CMH staff member who locked their keys in their car while at the Waukesha Post Office. While there, another car owner asked for help after having done the exact same thing.

Mr. Plechaty opened both cars in record time. A sign of the skills learned over years of helping a lot of newly licensed drivers out of the same problem.

P.S. I was not the one who locked my keys in the car, I just drove Steve to the Post Office. Logically, the person first helped was the one taking the picture.

Interesting on many levels...

At about 1pm this afternoon (9pm there), someone from Israel visited this blog to read the recent blog post about the members of the freshman boys basketball team who were helping the Salvation Army as bellringers.

Welcome to our Israeli visitor. I hope you were as impressed by our fine young men as we our.

Caritas in Omnibus

CMH freshman basketball players Tony Balistrieri and Jett Siegenthaler offer some help at the Salvation Army center before heading out to ring bells.

Aaron Siehr, Tony and Jett man one of the entrances to the Wal-Mart in Muskego.

Robbie Gogin and Matt Morris work the other entrance to Walmart. Who raised more?

Merry Christmas from the CMH Freshman Basketball Team!

Last Advent Prayer Service

Say that three times fast!

That is the name of a city in Hungary where someone visited this blog last night to read about the CMH fencing team.

And people think "Oconomowoc" is tough.

The tradition of Crusader Team Masses Continues

The pictures below are from my mass with the CMH wrestling team on last Thursday afternoon. I celebrated a mass with the Hockey and Girls Basketball teams on Friday morning.

As is also part of the tradition, we finished mass with a recitation of the CMH Team prayer --

Heavenly Father,Our Life, Health, and Abilities are gifts from you.

Give us the courage to devote each, not to our own gain, but to your glory.

Let us compete todaywith all our heart, mind, body, and soul.

If you choose, allow victory to come as a blessing and reward;but, if necessary, assist us to learn integrity in defeat.

Keep all players safe this day.

Allow us to give our best as a memorial to those who have given their all for our sake.

St. Sebastian, patron of athletes, R:/ Pray for us.

Our Lady of Memorial, R:/ Pray for us.

Our Lady of Victory, R:/ Pray for us.

We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
