CMH extends streak
Crusaders to make fifth straight appearance at state


SHOREWOOD – The Catholic Memorial High School girls soccer team advanced to the semifinals of a state tournament for the 12th time in the past 15 years with a 6-0 victory over Milwaukee Lutheran in a WIAA Division 2 sectional final Saturday. The Crusaders will be making their fifth consecutive – sixth overall – appearance at the WIAA Division 2 state tournament.

Senior midfielder Natalie Lechner had three goals and an assist for the Crusaders, who recorded their fourth straight shutout in the postseason and 16th overall. Senior midfielder Amy Bennett scored two goals, and senior defender Julie Fischer scored one as CMH improved to 21-2-2. Junior forward Nikki Condit had four assists for the Crusaders, and senior defender Kara Novotny had one. CMH has outscored its four postseason opponents 36-0.
