Muskego Lions awards Robert Krueser/David Salentine Scholarships

The Muskego Lions Club has awarded two Robert Kreuser/David Salentine post secondary scholarships to Muskego area seniors. Robert Krueser was a life long Muskego resident, respected teacher, principal, and superintendent for the Muskego-Norway School District. David Salentine was a life long Muskego resident, respected teacher, coach, and administrator for the Muskego-Norway School District. Both men were valued and honored members of the Muskego Lions Club.

Alexander York, a senior at Muskego High School and Karl Kallio, a senior at Catholic Memorial High School each received the Muskego Lions Club Robert Krueser/David Salentine Collegiate Scholarship in the amount of $750...

...Karl Kallio will be attending either the University of Wisconsin - Madison, or Marquette University with plans to enter the field of Nursing with a long-term goal of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. In addition to his academic accomplishments, karl is active at St. Leonard's Parish by volunteering/leading mission trips, ushering, helping with various outreach opportunities, and being a founding member of Labor of Love (a group established to help elderly people with household/yard chores). Karl volunteers during the summer at the VA Hospital. At Catholic Memoria High School, Karl has been involved with Operation Michael (homeless awareness), International Outreach (a group that raises monies for countries going through struggles), yearly food drives, annual toy drives, and is an active participant in fundraisers for various school projects. Karl shows leadership by representing CMH as a student ambassador, oversees the Operation Michael program, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Karl is an active athlete with the F.C. Milwaukee Soccer Club, Catholic Youth Ministry Basketball Team, and the CMH soccer team, where he is captain ad has received numerous awards.

We congratulate both of these young people on their accomplishments, and thank all of the Muskego area seniors who applied for our scholarship.

We wish the senior classes of 2010 the best in their future endeavors!
