Waukesha Catholic Memorial won its second state boys basketball championship, holding off Maple Northwestern in the Division 2 state final Saturday at the Kohl Center in Madison, 60-48.
T.J. Bray, named Wisconsin’s Mr. Basketball earlier in the day, closed his high-school career with another standout performance, finishing with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Fellow senior Derek Schell led the way with 21 points.

Northwestern closed its deficit to 45-43 with 5:46 to play in the game, but the Crusaders rattled off the next 8 points and closed the game on a 15-5 run. CMH earned its first gold ball since 2004 – the only other time Memorial has appeared at a state tournament.

Donnie Hissa closed out a superb two-day stretch for Northwestern with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
