We Shrive, We Serve

.
"To shrive" means to give absolution after confession is made. On Monday, CMH welcomed six additional priests who came to campus to help the student body celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
.
As part of a whole morning of faith and action, in addition to a penitential prayer service and the opportunity for individual reconciliation, every CMH student learned more about the student-led service and outreach opportunities Operation Michael and the Invisible Children effort by the International Outreach Club.
.
Lastly, every student had the opportunity to honor CMH's founding by writing a Christmas letter of support to a deployed US serviceman or woman.
.
Special thanks to the priests who assisted at Monday's Advent Penance Service --
.
Fr. Joe Hornacek, pastor, St. Anthony of the Lake, Pewaukee
Fr. Curt Frederick, pastor, St. Williams, Waukesha
Fr. Ken Knippel, pastor, St. John Vianney, Brookfield
Fr. Sean O'Connell, associate pastor, St. Dominic, Brookfield (and chaplain to the Crusader Football Team)
Fr. Philip Bogacki, associate pastor, St. John Vianney, Brookfield (and chaplain to the CMH Pro-Life Club)
Fr. Tim Uhen, an Opus Dei priest at the Layton Study Center
.
With seven of us hearing confessions non-stop for almost two and a half hours, the faith was clearly vibrantly alive at CMH on Monday morning.
