WAUKESHA – The Catholic Memorial High School boys basketball team won a key Classic 8 Conference showdown with a fourth-round knockout Friday night.

The Crusaders outscored Waukesha North 20-6 in the fourth quarter to take Round 1 of this season’s crosstown rivalry between the two senior dominated teams 51-39 .

Memorial improved to 2-0 in Classic 8 play, 5-1 overall.

“You look at the final score and see a comfortable win – NOT,” Memorial coach Dean Bellanti said. “Luckily, in the fourth quarter, some things went our way and a couple of baskets gave us some confidence. It was nice, obviously, that a couple of things went our way late.”...
