TEAM LOOKS TO CHALLENGE ARROWHEAD IN CLASSIC 8
WAUKESHA –

...“We were in a tight race with Arrowhead and played two very good games where we felt both of those could’ve went our way,” said Bellanti, who is in his second season guiding the Crusaders. “We have to close that gap and try to figure out a way to knock them off the throne.”

Senior T.J. Bray (6-foot-4) likely will have a lot to say with whether Memorial is able to avenge last year’s two losses to Arrowhead. The reigning Classic 8 Player of the Year averaged 16.7 points per game last season. “He’ll probably play more point guard this year,” Bellanti said of Bray, who has committed to play at Princeton. “He does so many good things on the floor that he really makes other people around him better, and he’ll be a focus of everybody we play.”

Senior guard Derek Schell (6-0), a Hillsdale College (Mich.) recruit, and senior forward Mike Neary (6-5) received honorable mention all-Classic 8 honors last season. Senior center Austin Pucylowski (6-4) and senior guards Dillon Connors (5-10) and Mitch Schultz (5-11) also return. Senior Sean Harvey (6-1) might miss the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
