CMHers attend National Catholic Youth Conference

After a day long bus trip, with just a little bit of excitement (just a small clash between a bus window and a truck mirror in a parking lot -- don't worry, no one was hurt) a contingent of students from CMH arrived safe and sound in Kansas City, MO for the 2009 National Catholic Youth Conference.

38 students travelled as part of our official CMH group, and some 30 more made the trip with their parish youth ministry groups.

Billed as the largest annual Catholic Youth Gathering in the US, NCYC offers young people opportunities to "Pray. Play. Learn. Interact. Discern. Network. Experience. Listen. Grow. NCYC encompasses a wide variety of opportunities to learn about and experience the Catholic faith."

Running Thursday through Saturday at the Sprint Center in KC, the participating young people and adult leaders will experience prayer, catechesis, discussion and just plain fun.
Before the CMH group left, the travellers and their parents gathered at CMH for mass and a pilgrims blessing.
It is hoped that experiences such as this will lead to a building of enthusiasm and excitement to possibly have a CMH group travel to Madrid, Spain for World Youth Day, 2011!
