STATE DIVISION 2 SOCCER TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

from today's Waukesha Freeman --

Catholic Memorial relying on defense
Shore’s goalkeeping key

By Daniel Mike Freeman Staff

WAUKESHA – It’s not often an opponent of the Catholic Memorial High School boys soccer team celebrated a goal. The Crusaders allowed two or more goals just six times in 24 games.

It’s that defense that has the Crusaders in the WIAA Division 2 state tournament Friday. And it all starts with senior goalkeeper Tim Shore, who has allowed just 18 goals in 1,758 minutes...

The Crusaders open with a semifinal match against Madison Edgewood (14-8-1) at noon Friday at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.
