Memorial beats Greendale


GREENDALE – Catholic Memorial High School’s baseball team opened up a 9-0 lead after five innings and held on for a 10-6 nonconference victory over Greendale on Thursday.

Junior third baseman J.C. Petersen had two of Memorial’s 11 hits, including a grand slam in the fifth inning. Junior center fielder Derek Peake was 2-for-4 including a solo home run in the first inning, and junior second baseman Casey Kula was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs as Memorial improved to 6-7.

CMH senior Andy Suchorski pitched the first four innings, giving up no runs and one hit. Two pitchers followed Suchorski, and Memorial wound up walking eight batters in the game, including six in Greendale’s five-run sixth inning that also included two of Greendale’s three hits
